Khicho Ice Lake, nestled in the Himalayas, is a remote and pristine glacial lake offering breathtaking views and a challenging trek. Due to its high altitude and rugged terrain, accessibility is limited and requires a good level of fitness. Solo treks are possible but not recommended due to the isolated nature of the region; guided tours are preferable for safety and navigation. The best time to visit is during the pre-monsoon (April-May) and post-monsoon (September-October) seasons when the weather is relatively stable. Expect a multi-day trek with costs varying significantly depending on the level of service and guide chosen, typically ranging from moderate to high. A typical visit, including the trek, can last from 7 to 14 days. Be prepared for unpredictable weather and altitude sickness.
